A Cut Above!

Celebrating Mother’s Day…in Style!

We know our Moms are “Head and Shoulders” above the rest, but Mother’s Day 2008 showed us their “shear beauty.” It’s all thanks to a team of volunteers who are a “cut above.”

OK, enough with the “hair raising” puns!

Mother’s Day 2008. Janice Pilarczyk, a stylist at Mitchells Salons returned for a second year — this time, bringing with her a TEAM of top stylists. These wonderful women gave our Moms high-end hairstyles and a little well-deserved TLC.

Our Moms are brave, and they let these talented stylists get right to it…

Stylist Brenda Van Benschoten worked her magic on Candace Barker of Sparta, North Carolina. Candace’s mom, Rita Moxley, her sister in law Melissa Moxley and 7-year old niece Krestin Moxley had traveled two hours from Sparta so they could all spend Mother’s Day together.

During…

…and…

After!

Wow!

Candace is staying at the Ronald McDonald House while her two month old son Isaiah is treated for Severe Combined Immune Deficiency Syndrome (SCIDS). She has watched her son receive two bone marrow transplants already. Her Mom, Rita, is her biggest supporter. Brenda said, “you deserve a Mother’s Day hairstyle, too…”

Rita’s reply???

“I know I can be a Glamorous Grandma!”

Brenda is truly a fantastic stylist…look at this precision cut!

Rita said she loves her haircut so much she’s coming back next year. “God willing, Isaiah will be on the mend and we won’t be spending Mother’s Day at the hospital. But if Brenda comes back next Mother’s Day, I may just make that drive from Sparta anyway.”

Brenda and the other stylists say they’ll be back.

Like Mother… Like Daughter.

Stylist Natasha Bieber is Brenda’s daughter. She said she enjoyed spending Mother’s Day with her mom at the Ronald McDonald House. “We get to be together and do something nice for all these Mom’s. What could be better?”

Natasha styled Yira Alfaro’s hair with a flat iron. Yira is all the way from Lajas, Puerto Rico, caring for her 8-month old daughter Andrea Velez. Yira had the quote of the day..

“The Mom’s at the Ronald McDonald House…we already have so much tension in our heads. Getting a haircut? It’s GOOD to lose some of that weight!”

All in all, the top team from Mitchells styled hair for at least 15 special clients. That includes Moms, a Grandmother, siblings and two volunteers.

Here are some of our stylish clients — with their SUPER STYLISTS!
